Professional Tree Services Done Right

We offer tree trimming, tree removal, emergency storm damage services, and stump grinding. Safe practices, efficient work, and respect for your property.

About Our Sustainable Approach:

At Versatile Woodwork, our tree services do more than just clear your property. We believe in full-circle sustainability, which is why we salvage the native hardwoods from our tree service jobs and process them in-house. Instead of heading to a landfill, trees that need to come down are repurposed into high-quality, local lumber.

The Journey From Your Property:

  1. Responsible Salvaging: We only use wood from our tree service operations or trees that must be removed for safety or health. We never participate in logging or clear-cutting.

  2. On-Site & Local Milling: Logs are brought to our yard and processed using a portable bandsaw mill to create custom slabs and dimensional lumber.

  3. Patient Seasoning: Every piece of wood is air-dried—roughly one year per inch of thickness—before finishing in a kiln to ensure it is stable for interior use.

  4. Expert Craftsmanship: We take pride in handling the entire process from the first cut on your property to the final finish in our shop, giving new life to wood that would otherwise be destined for the dump.

How long does a custom project take?

Timelines vary depending on project complexity and quantity, but most single piece projects take 6-12 weeks after the first cut.

Can I bring my own wood for milling?

Yes, but there are some exceptions. Customer supplied material must be below 20% moisture (we have a moisture meter for testing). Pine/evergreen may be rejected due high pitch/resin

Do you offer shipping for custom pieces?

While we may not personally deliver projects 30+ miles from St. Charles, MN, we are happy to connect with white glove carriers to safely deliver our projects.

What’s the price range for a custom table or surface?

Our custom tables and surfaces range from $45 to $180 per square foot, depending on materials and design.

What epoxy brands do you use and recommend?

We use and recommend EcoPoxy for its durability and eco-friendly properties.

Do you offer custom finishing services?

We offer commercial grade spray finish coatings as well as a buffed hard-wax oil.

Can I visit your shop to see available slabs?

Absolutely! Our regular woodshop hours are 9-5 weekdays. For a more in depth viewing of our slab selection or for guidance from our team, an appointment can be set up in advance.
