Custom Woodwork, Crafted For You

From live edge tables to bespoke furniture, we create unique pieces tailored to your style and needs

About The Woodshop:

We believe in sustainability, which is why we source our wood locally and process it in-house. By salvaging trees that would otherwise go to waste, we create beautiful furniture while preserving natural resources.

Our Process:

  1. We Salvage: Native hardwoods are salvaged from our tree service jobs. These trees needed to come down for one reason or another. We do not log or use materials from clear cutting forests.
  2. We Mill: A portable bandsaw mill comes to our log yard several times throughout the year to mill slab and dimensional lumber.
  3. We Dry: The lumber is then air dried to  (one year per inch in thickness). Once moisture levels are below 20%, it is ready for kiln drying where the moisture is brought down to levels suitable for interior use (6-8%)
  4. We Craft: After proper moisture levels are achieved, we can begin working with the lumber. We take pride in keeping as much of this process in house as possible. We bring new life to wood that would typically be destined for the dump.

Frequently Asked Questions

What types of wood do you work with?

We primarily work with walnut, oak, ash, and maple.

How long does a custom project take?

Timelines vary depending on project complexity and quantity, but most single piece projects take 6-12 weeks after the first cut.

Can I bring my own wood for milling?

Yes, but there are some exceptions. Customer supplied material must be below 20% moisture (we have a moisture meter for testing). Pine/evergreen may be rejected due high pitch/resin

Do you offer shipping for custom pieces?

While we may not personally deliver projects 30+ miles from St. Charles, MN, we are happy to connect with white glove carriers to safely deliver our projects.

What’s the price range for a custom table or surface?

Our custom tables and surfaces range from $45 to $180 per square foot, depending on materials and design.

What epoxy brands do you use and recommend?

We use and recommend EcoPoxy for its durability and eco-friendly properties.

Do you offer custom finishing services?

We offer commercial grade spray finish coatings as well as a buffed hard-wax oil.

Can I visit your shop to see available slabs?

Absolutely! Our regular woodshop hours are 9-5 weekdays. For a more in depth viewing of our slab selection or for guidance from our team, an appointment can be set up in advance.
